Characteristics and healthy treatment

1. Do you usually feel restless? (for example: agitated, difficulty sitting still, fidgeting, exercising a lot or being agile)

2. Do you usually tend to do first and think second? (e.g. blurting things out, spending too much money, being impatient)

3. Do you usually have concentration problems? (e.g. being easily distracted, not finishing things, easily bored, forgetful or chaotic)

If the answer to question 1 and/or 2 and/or 3 is yes:

4. Have you always had this? (For as long as you can remember, or most of your life)

If the answer to question 4 is yes, consider a professional examination for AD(H)D.

ADHD in adults, diagnostics and treatment”, p 213, J.J.Sandra Kooij, Pearson Amsterdam, 2020.

Are you only now suspecting that you have AD(H)D? You are no exception in this. It usually takes many years, with difficulties, setbacks and wrong choices in many areas of life, before people begin to suspect that they have concentration problems. And often it is only by chance that they discover that ADD could be the cause of this concentration disorder.

Do you also have this suspicion? Then you can visit our ADHD-ADD Expertise Centre Psychologist-JoVo. We perform ADD and ADHD research and provide your doctor with a report for medication. Watch this free Webinar on AD(H)D in adults.

Or you can also opt for our healthy and safe treatment without medication which can be bought online here.

Causes of concentration problems

Concentration problems have several causes. Some of them are medical, such as illnesses. It is very important to rule these out first. Therefore, discuss your concentration problems with your GP first.

If a medical cause has been ruled out, the question is whether your concentration difficulties have a psychological cause. Some examples of psychological causes include depression, burnout, trauma, borderline, psychosis, addiction or dementia. If your problems have another cause, psychotherapy can often help. Sometimes we will refer you.

ADHD or ADD as a cause

Besides a psychological cause, a concentration problem can also be related to the neurodevelopmental disorder ADHD or ADD. Our ADHD|ADD expertise centre will find out whether it is actually ADHD or ADD that is at the root of your problems, whether or not in combination with a psychological problem. Because ADD and ADHD often cause additional psychological problems (or, for example, partner relationship problems) and ADHD/ADD and other psychological disorders also often co-exist.

Attestation ADHD

Do you want a diagnosis of ADD|ADHD , including a certificate for your doctor to prescribe medication? Or a certificate for your educational institution or employer? Then the ADHD-ADD Expertise Centre Psychologist-JoVo will find this out for you. We have extensive experience with psychological problems, test research, clinical research and psychotherapy.

We do the examination in a two-hour time block. The treatment programme is explained in the Webinars. This also allows people living far away to both know the diagnosis and start their treatment with one visit, without an endless series of psychological tests.

If ADHD|ADD is present, you can choose medication or our own treatment programme. If you opt for medication, we recommend this to your GP.

You don't want to take medication for your ADHD or ADD? Because you are already taking it and no longer tolerate it? Or because you think the (lifelong) intake is too risky for your health? Buy our healthy and safe treatment without medication. In doing so, we teach you step by step how to start and maintain this programme. We do this by means of video material and lists.

It is a healthy and affordable programme for the treatment of ADHD/ADD with follow-up by e-mail afterwards.

If there is no AD(H)D, we look further for the right diagnosis.

Do you have ADD?

Adults with ADD often procrastinate, don't tackle things fast enough, don't follow through or don't complete them (Unless, in the meantime, they have learned to live very disciplined and organised lives in constant hyper-focus). Our Practice specialises in working with ADD in adults. We prefer to welcome people at the practice, so that we can make a clear diagnosis. Additionally, our long experience and expertise ensure that we can then prescribe people our safe treatment.

At the same time, people with ADD and ADHD want things to progress, to be able to get things done in one go. Many come from the other side of the country or from the Netherlands. We offer a two-hour package where you get the test examination. This can also be done via video conference.

Online treatment programme

Order your own treatment without medication here

On this site, separately from the test study, you can also buy our safe and healthy treatment programme against ADD. It is a treatment that reduces your symptoms without the need to take medication. The programme consists of video material and didactic resources that are permanently available to you after payment. It contains detailed explanations of exactly what you need to do yourself to reduce your ADD symptoms, and it also includes methods for starting it up and sustaining it.

Maybe you are a student who is bogged down by concentration problems. Or you are a fifty-something who is becoming increasingly tired and isolated. Without finding a cause for this. Maybe you're sitting at home with burnout. Or you are depressed but your medication is not working. Or your partner has problems with you that you don't understand yourself. Maybe you visited several psychologists and psychiatrists over the years in vain.

Maybe the medication is becoming unbearable for your mind and body? Or you had a life of failed relationships and lost jobs until now. Or you come to almost nothing. It could also be that you have had hospitalisations. Or suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts out of sheer desperation.

All these problems can be caused by an ADD problem, strange as it may sound.
